Florence Faithfull was born on 18 November 1899. She was the second daughter of Lucian and Ethel Faithfull and she was born on the family property of Springfield, not far from Goulburn in New South Wales. Although she was christened Florence, she was called Bobbie by her family. She married Irwin Maple-Brown in St. Saviour's Cathedral in Goulburn on 9 October 1923. The couple had two children, a boy and a girl. Irwin died in 1964.
Relatives reside in Goulburn, Pinea and surrounding areas in New South Wales.
