Need some action and adventure in my life!

September 1, 2017

Sometimes the daily grind of life can get you down, and even if we've got a grand adventure to look forward to in the future, we need something to get the heart pumping right now. These books were page turners, edge of the seat romps. Often for various reasons, they're not just American style thrillers, there's also a romance, a crime drama and even a non-fiction.

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - grand literary themed thriller
The Stonekeeper (The Amulet Book 1) by Kazu Kibuishi - graphic novel series very addictive
Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch - Terry Pratchett meets London crime in this series
Lady’s Command (Adventurers Quartet#1) by Stephanie Laurens - regency romance on the seas
A Foreign Country by Charles Cumming - American style thriller but in an English style
Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence - dark fantasy series
Underground by Andrew McGahan - fantastic Australian dystopian thriller
Open by Andre Agassi - searingly honest, surprisingly engaging read, even if you don't like tennis
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein - spy thriller set during World War II
