Favourite quotes from books
A few months ago I did a post about the favourite first lines of favourite books. However lots of people love quoting from the meat of the book itself. With the rise of social media, we begin to see more and more quotes bandied about on pretty backgrounds. Sometimes these quotes might leave you cold, or even have you scoff out loud at the syrupy sweet message. This might be because you’re just not in the right mood to hear the message or it simply has no bearing on your life. On the other hand, sometimes having a quote hanging on a wall can bring back the memories of reading that book and all the wisdom you took from the first, second or sixth time you read it. And that to me is the truly great thing about quotes - the memories. Of the moment you had a realisation from reading the book, or the instant it made sense in a large way of the world.
So since I write this post, I would like to indulge in some vanity for a moment and make these quotes all about what is near and dear to me. There are various authors, various genres and various emotions raised by each of them. A couple are purely there because each and every time I read them, I giggle. They're in no particular order but the order in which I rediscovered them for writing this post.
